Here are some of the highlights of the Challenge so far

Northamptonshire Police

Memorial and Road Safety Day

A poignant memorial to those who lost their lives on the county’s roads last year will again be the focal point of a FREE multi-agency road safety event at Abington Park in Northampton.

Roads Policing officer PC Emilie Bunkall has created the powerful display which will be made up of 29 black silhouettes of road users, signifying the true cost of road collisions in our county – the lives which have been lost and those that have been changed for ever.

Emilie, a RoadPeace member and valued volunteer, knows first-hand of the devastating impact and heartbreak a road death has on those left behind after her mum Julie was killed in a collision in 2013.

As well as this powerful memorial, the road safety day, on Saturdat 18th May in Abingdon Park, will feature a variety of stalls from the emergency services and road safety experts, helping to raise awareness of key issues such as speeding, drink driving and driver training.

North Yorkshire Police

Officers across North Yorkshire will be walking, cycling and wheeling to help rack up the miles and raise awareness of road danger.

Roads Policing Sergeant Paul Cording BEM has been a long time supporter of the RoadPeace Challenge, and continues his support both through a variety of activities this week as well as spreading the message of road danger reduction on his social media platform.

FLO and Senior Investigating Officer David Minto has supported the Challenge this year by undertaking the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.
