Bereaved families share heartfelt stories to mark World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims
To mark World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims today (Sunday November 19, 2023), members of the RoadPeace West Midlands and West Mercia local group have released a series of poignant videos explaining what the day means to them.
World Day of Remembrance, observed annually on the third Sunday of November, provides a platform for individuals affected by road crashes to express their pain, share their emotions and articulate the continuing impact on their lives.
Unlike the widespread recognition of Remembrance Sunday for victims of war, World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims remains lesser-known, despite its equally prolific impact.
The members of our West Midlands and West Mercia RoadPeace local group are working to change this narrative by amplifying their voices and emphasising the magnitude of the issue.
In these powerful videos, they describe how World Day of Remembrance serves as a crucial avenue for them to feel heard and ensures that their loved ones are not forgotten.
