Leading driver training provider Fleet Source has partnered with RoadPeace to help boost the national charity’s campaign to reduce road danger.
Putting Vulnerable Road User training at the top of its agenda for fleet operators, Fleet Source will help to promote the charity’s key messages on Vulnerable Road User (VRU) awareness and risk reduction, as well as further expanding its safe driving course portfolio for its national client base.
Fleet Source CEO, Nick Caesari, comments: “We share RoadPeace’s commitment to raising awareness of the challenges faced by vulnerable road users and ultimately to save lives.
By working together, we can put a clear spotlight on this major issue for our increasingly busy roads and using the charity’s invaluable experience and insights, we can better prepare commercial drivers to identify and predict hazards and hazardous situations.”
RoadPeace Campaign Co-ordinator Victoria Lebrec – who lost her leg when a lorry crashed into her while she was cycling in Islington – said: ”Working with the commercial driver industry to reduce road collisions and protect vulnerable road users is vital, so we’re delighted that Fleet Source has joined us as a corporate partner.
“There is still a great deal of work to be done to ensure we share our roads safely and we’re looking forward to helping Fleet Source heighten awareness of the ever-increasing challenge and use victim’s real stories and experiences, such as mine, to help fleet operators better understand the huge responsibilities they face.”
Victoria Lebrec will join Nick Caesari and his team on a series of engagement days with Fleet Source customers throughout 2020.
