As Grief Awareness Week 2023 unfolds, we take a moment to acknowledge the profound impact that the devastating loss of a loved one has on families and friendships across the country.
For members of RoadPeace, the national charity for road crash victims, the stark reality is that fatal collisions are sudden and violent, and in many cases, those left behind do not get a chance to say goodbye.
In 2022 alone, 1,766 people were killed in road crashes in the UK – each one representing a life cut short, dreams unfulfilled and families forever changed. Behind these statistics are real stories of pain, grief and unimaginable loss, and Grief Week serves as a poignant reminder of this.
Grief is a universal experience, yet the paths we walk through it are uniquely personal. During Grief Week, we recognise and honour the diverse ways individuals process their sorrow.
