RoadPeace relies on the amazing efforts of so many people who raise money to fund our vital services, often in memory of precious loved ones. Each month we share the story of someone doing something incredible for RoadPeace.
February 2023’s Fundraiser of the month is Steve Booth
Exactly one year ago, Steve Booth earnt the title of fundraiser of the month for his part in organising the hugely successful Leic-Ska 1, an all day music event that raised over £1360 for RoadPeace. Now, a year on, Leic-Ska 2 has had similar success.
Held over 2 days, on the 10th and 11th of February, the New Parks Social Club brought the best in ska music to Leicester with a range of bands and DJs. The event was a huge success, with exclusively 5 star reviews online. One attendee commented “Loved it! Friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Ambitious project.” RoadPeace is deeply grateful to the New Parks Social Club for organising such a vibrant event to raise funds for us. Leic-Ska 2 raised an impressive £1235.07, which will support the RoadPeace West Midlands Group, which Steve attends. This money is sure to make a big difference for victims of road crashes in the area.
Steve joined RoadPeace after losing his wife, Annette, in 2018 when a car crashed into a bus stop that he and Annette were waiting at. Despite suffering this devastating loss, Steve has worked hard to raise large sums of money for RoadPeace, with the total funds raised by the New Parks Social Club being over £4000. This resilience and compassion in the face of such tragedy is why we have chosen Steve as our Fundraiser of the month once again.
Thank you, Steve, for everything you do!
