This month we are celebrating the amazing efforts of Abbie Brooks in organising a family fun day in memory of her sister, Molly Stone, who was tragically killed in a car crash in November of 2022.
The event took place on the 26th of August at Verzon House. Abbie said “It was a lot of hard work and effort from all of the team at Verzon House and I’m so proud of all the staff for getting behind such a worthy cause.
“Given the circumstances surrounding Molly’s death and how close we’re located to the crash site, we only thought it right to honour her memory and show our solidarity with RoadPeace and The ELY Memorial Fund by hosting a fun day for our locals whilst raising money for the two charities closest to us.”
Over 300 people attended, and they were able to raise a total of £5883.65, to be split between RoadPeace and the ELY memorial fund. This money will make a difference to many families dealing with the aftermath of road death and injury, as well as raising awareness for RoadPeace and road danger reduction in the local community.
Abbie said “If even one of those 300 now knows a little more about road crime, road death, and the charities, it makes it all worth it… I truly believe it’s just the start of the work we’ll continue to do. Above all, I want to thank my sister. I know she’s with me in everything I’m doing, it’s all for her.”
RoadPeace is incredibly grateful for all of Abbie’s hard work, and we look forward to working with her in the future.
