This month, we wanted to say thank you to Pat and Mike Webb, and Mike’s brother John, for their fundraising efforts. Pat has shared these words with us:
“John Webb gives talks on the history of Crickhowell high street and its characters. The donations from this years talks he is giving to RoadPeace in memory of his nephew Harry Webb only 27 who was killed whilst cycling in Hackney 2023. John is 80 himself and feels the impact of the sudden loss of a young healthy life is totally devastating to all our family and friends. Harry was an intelligent, compassionate, happy young man with a bright future ahead of him and it was taken away from him so cruelly.”
“Road danger must not be tolerated. A driving licence is a privilege, not a right. We have decided to support RoadPeace because of all the work they do to help victims of road crime, the support they give and the campaigning they do to try and improve road justice and make changes that are needed. We need to change society’s complacency towards risk on our roads and ensure the right for all road users to be safe.”

£125 have been donated to RoadPeace from the first of John’s talks. We are truly grateful that John has chosen to support RoadPeace in this way, it is thanks to community fundraisers like this that RoadPeace is able to continue fighting for justice and providing our much needed support services.
