Thank you so much to Frank Dineley and all his friends at the Woolton Golf Club for their amazing donation of £1000 from the Old Buggy Club fund in memory of Thomas Browne.
Frank’s grandson Thomas Browne was killed in a crash on 22nd July 2011. Frank and his family have undertaken a number of fundraising initiatives for RoadPeace including several at the Woolton Golf Club. His family are also active members of our North West Local Group.
Thank you so much for this incredible donation, which means so much to RoadPeace and the families that we support.
When Thomas was killed his family also set up a fundraising page on JustGiving in his memory and shared this poem written by his Nan and Grandad:
Forever Young – Thomas Browne
Our cherished grandson Thomas
Our caring lovely boy
So cruelly taken from us
He’d filled our hearts with joy
He’d passed his test
He’d got his car
His life was now complete
He’d never been so happy
The world was at his feet
And then one day so tragically
We got the news he’d died
At seven o’clock in his treasured car
With his brother by his side
We couldn’t come to terms with it
Too horrendous to believe
His whole life lay before him
Just leaving us to grieve
We’ll forever remember the good times
They cover nineteen years
But Thomas has left such a hole in our hearts
Just filled with sadness and tears
We’ll always remember those wonderful years
And cherish them with pride
Of our beautiful grandson Thomas
Who will walk evermore by our side
Broken hearted, Nan and Grandad
