This month, we are celebrating the amazing work of Mandy Oliver and the Insurance Institute of Shropshire and Mid Wales, who organised an awards and casino evening for the Insurance Institute’s annual dinner and dance. This evening was dedicated to the memory of Will Rogers, Mandy’s son who was killed by a hit-and-run driver in April of 2022.
Mandy has been an inspiration with her fundraising efforts for RoadPeace in recent years, and this night was no exception. The organisers were able to host a truly special evening, with fine dining, an awards ceremony, a roulette table and DJ music. Jayne Ison of Bespoke Bites by Jane provided custom RoadPeace branded biscuits for the dinner, and the event also featured an address from Charlie Fogarty MBE, a footballer who suffered a serious head injury in a car crash.
.
From this event, Mandy and the Insurance Institute were able to raise a pre-GiftAid total of £2,740. This money will make a real difference in the fight against road danger, and help us to continue delivering our vital support services.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone involved in the organisation of this event. Special thanks to Mandy Oliver, and her daughter Lydia Goldie, who made a custom RoadPeace mug and coaster to be raffled, as well as Robin Melley, president of the Insurance Institute of Shropshire and Mid Wales, and his wife Karen, who was crucial in the organisation of the event.
