This month, we have chosen to highlight the fantastic fundraising work of Sophie Bailey, who ran 50 miles along some of her area’s most dangerous roads to raise awareness and funds for RoadPeace.
Sophie came across RoadPeace whilst doing her own research into road danger reduction. She joined RoadPeace as a Friend, but soon found that very few people were aware of RoadPeace in her area, despite lots of collisions.
Sophie said “I wanted to raise awareness to the amazing charity and the work that Road Peace does, so I thought running 50 miles around the most dangerous roads in my area seemed like the best idea.”
“From my fundraising I have gained a lot of recognition for what I am doing… I have shared the message of Road Peace to as many people as I can… My aim for 2023 is to promote the message of safe driving, safer tyres and safer vehicles. We should not be losing loved ones due to the negligence of other road users.”
Sophie raised a total of £550, greatly exceeding her £100 target.
Sophie founded FreshDriversUK, an organisation dedicated to supporting young and new drivers, a key demographic for road danger reduction.
We are hugely grateful for all of Sophie’s work , and for her support of RoadPeace, and are looking forward to what she will achieve in the coming months.
