DVSA Earned Recognition Scheme
Earned recognition is a voluntary scheme set up by the DVSA to encourage compliance with their vehicle regulations through incentivising data sharing. Vehicle operators that sign up to the scheme must meet a certain standard of maintenance of their vehicles in order to join, and are then required to regularly share performance information with the DVSA. In return, vehicles operated by participants will be less likely to be stopped.
The scheme will appeal to many commercial fleet operators, who can save money avoiding roadside inspections
A collection of documents and guidance on the scheme can be found here. The information sets out clear safety standards we can expect on our roads, and may be useful for those trying to navigate the legal system.
