On Sunday 16 November 2025, families, friends, and communities across the UK came together for World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (WDR) a deeply important day of reflection, remembrance, and unity.
For many, WDR is a moment filled with emotion. It is a time to honour the lives tragically cut short on our roads, to stand alongside those who carry the lifelong impact of loss or serious injury, and to acknowledge the strength, resilience, and love within affected families.
Across the country RoadPeace brought people together to remember those who should still be with us, to offer support to those grieving, and to renew our shared commitment to creating safer roads for all.
With 12 remembrance events taking place across the country, we are especially grateful to the dedicated organisers of the RoadPeace-led services, which included:
Birmingham
Organised with great care by Lucy Harrison, the Birmingham service offered a peaceful space where families could gather, reflect, and find comfort in community.
Bath
Led by Kate Uzzell, the Bath ceremony brought together those who wished to remember loved ones and share in the collective strength that comes from being together.
Liverpool
With heartfelt thanks to Merlyn Kendall, Liverpool’s service provided a gentle and supportive setting for remembrance, reflection, and solidarity.
London
Organised by Isaac Ewald, the London service welcomed families from across the region to honour those lost and acknowledge the lasting impact of road crashes.
Northampton
Nicole and Chris Taylor led a touching service where families and supporters came together to remember, connect, and support one another.
Thank You to the Families and Victims Who Attended
To every bereaved family member, every injured survivor, and every person who attended one of our WDR services: thank you.
Your courage in coming together whether to light a candle, share a name, or simply be alongside others is what made these events deeply meaningful.
We hold space for your memories, your stories, and your loved ones.
And we remain committed to walking alongside you, not just on WDR, but every day of the year.
With Gratitude to Our Sponsors
These remembrance events could not take place without the support of our generous sponsors. Their commitment allows RoadPeace to continue offering remembrance opportunities, support services, and advocacy for safer roads.
Bath
Liverpool
Birmingham
Northampton
Thank you for supporting the families affected by road crashes and helping ensure that their loved ones are never forgotten.
Why World Day of Remembrance Matters
WDR is more than a single day. It is a reminder of the enormous human cost of road crashes the lives taken, the futures changed, and the families who continue to live with the consequences.
It is also a call for action.
A reminder that every life lost on our roads is avoidable.
A chance for us to recommit to supporting victims, advocating for safer roads, and striving for a future where no more families must experience this kind of loss.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed, attended, organised, or supported this year’s services. Together, we remember. Together, we honour. Together, we hope for change.
