This poem is for my son, James, who was tragically killed in a collision involving two cars. He has missed two Mother’s days – but I know he is here with me always not just on Mother’s day. 

A Mother’s Love

A mother’s love is like freshly fallen snow, pure and unconditional.

A mother’s love is like the warmest sunbeam, giving a hug and making you glow.

A mother’s love comes from her beating heart, that caused yours to beat when life began.

A mother’s love is like a burning flame, fiercely defending her loved ones.

A mother’s love is like a rainbow, always watching over you, bringing joy, happiness and colour into your life.

A mother’s love is like a soft mist because it never fades.

A mother’s love is like the wind, constant and always there with you wherever you may go on this earth.

A mother’s love is like the soft falling rain that washes away your fears.

A mother’s love is like a shining star, giving you strength and hope for your future and always looking down on you, guiding your every step.

A mother’s love is like nature, it heals and nurtures you when you feel that you can’t go on, or have lost your way.

A mother’s love is like the fruits of the earth always giving, always selfless.

A mother’s love is part of you entwined into your heart and beautiful fragile soul.

A mother’s soul is like the universe, it remains with you always.

So, never be afraid little one, for as you grow through this life you are a part of this incredible universe as your mother is a part of you. That is why you feel comfort and love and protection when you think of her….knowing that she lives with you in your heart and soul forever and always.
