In these worrying and uncertain times, we wanted to let you know that RoadPeace is still here for you to support you if you have been bereaved or injured because of a crash.
We understand that such difficult and uncertain times can trigger a lot of fear and anxiety, especially for those who are self isolating or who are not able to lean on their usual support networks. Our services are here to help and support you in the following ways:
Helpline support (email and telephone) – Road crash victims can email or call our helpline to talk to a RoadPeace staff member to access immediate emotional support and information as well as find out more about the services we provide. Whilst returning calls may take just a bit longer than usual every call will be returned.
Befriender Service (telephone) – Road crash victims can be referred to one of our trained volunteer befrienders (who have personal experience of a road crash) and provide ongoing telephone support to victims for as long as they require it.
Information guides and other resources (website) – we have a range of guides and information on our website to help cope with the aftermath of a crash and also navigate the justice system (https://www.roadpeace.org/document-library/)
Please also see this helpful resource around coping with anxiety and looking after your mental health during self isolation.
The easiest way to get in touch with us is either by emailing helpline@roadpeace.org, or calling 0845 4500 355 (Monday to Friday 10am-1pm).
Following Government guidance to avoid social contact and to ensure the health and well-being of our staff, volunteers and the wider RoadPeace community we have taken the difficult decision to temporarily cancel all face to face support services for the time being. Our office in London is also temporarily closed and all staff are working remotely. If you have any queries please email the relevant member of the team or if you don’t have their email please email info@roadpeace.org.
