Sue and Dave Evans, grieving parents from Wolverhampton, recently bravely shared their story on BBC Midlands, calling for a reconsideration of progressive licences. Their son, Simon Evans, was just 18 when he tragically died in a car crash in March, along with another passenger and the driver.
Simon was a passenger in a car driven by a newly qualified driver, and his parents believe stricter rules for young drivers could prevent similar tragedies. “We do not want Simon to be a nameless statistic,” said Sue Evans.
The Evans family are urging the government to introduce measures that would prevent new drivers from carrying passengers under 25.
