RoadPeace is proud to launch a brand-new guide for Members of Parliament, created to help them better support constituents whose lives have been devastated by road death or serious injury.
The publication: “How to Help Your Constituents After Road Death or Serious Injury: A Guide for MPs” brings together powerful personal stories, expert advice, and clear, practical steps for MPs to take action in their communities.
This inspiring 108-page guide is filled with first-hand accounts from bereaved families and seriously injured victims, as well as practical information on how to navigate the justice system, offer compassionate support, and work towards safer roads. It is a vital new tool for every MP who wants to make a real difference for their constituents.
RoadPeace CEO Howard Jones said:
“Every MP will, at some point, be contacted by a constituent affected by a road crash. This guide empowers them to respond with compassion, knowledge, and purpose. It’s a call to action — to treat road crime as real crime, and to work together toward Vision Zero, where no family has to endure this heartbreak again.”
The guide was generously sponsored by CFG Law and Brian Barr Solicitors, two members of the RoadPeace Legal Panel who share the charity’s commitment to ensuring victims receive justice, rehabilitation, and expert legal care.
“We’re immensely grateful to CFG and Brian Barr for making this guide possible,” added Howard. “Their support, alongside the courage of the families who shared their stories, has helped create something truly meaningful that will have real impact.”
The guide also features a foreword from Sarah Coombes MP, who praised the work of RoadPeace and highlighted the crucial role MPs play in standing alongside victims and advocating for safer roads.
Dedicated “to all those killed or seriously injured in road crashes and to the families and survivors who continue to fight for change”, the guide captures the heart of RoadPeace’s mission: support, justice, and prevention.
