This May, Redditch will host to a powerful and moving display that invites us all to pause, reflect, and remember. From 12th to 27th May 2025, a unique installation of peace doves will land at Arrow Valley Country Park, bringing with them stories of love, loss, and hope. The display is part of RoadPeace’s ‘Peace in the Park’ campaign, a heartfelt tribute created in memory of those killed on our roads.
Each dove carries many names, faces, stories. The project is part of a powerful collaboration between RoadPeace West Midlands and West Mercia Groups, Birmingham Youth Justice Service, CFG Law, Birmingham Cathedral, and St. Martin in the Bull Ring.
What makes this installation so special is not just its message of peace, but the people behind it. These doves were shaped through grief, through heartbreak, and through the shared hope that one day, no families will have to suffer such loss.
Lucy Harrison from RoadPeace shared what this project means to her:
“Families bereaved through road crashes and young people involved in driving-related crime came together in a deeply moving collaboration to create our doves. They highlight the unacceptable toll of road death, and remind everyone that victims are more than statistics. For our West Midlands and West Mercia Groups, it is very special to see the doves travelling to different locations – spreading the message that road crime is real crime right across the region. Redditch is my home town, so it is especially poignant for me – but also for our group members whose loved ones were killed on roads in Worcestershire. We are extremely grateful to CFG Law, Redditch Borough Council and Rubicon Leisure for their work in enabling this to happen.”
This is more than an art installation, it’s a place to reflect, to remember, and to come together in the name of peace.
