RoadPeace member, Calvin Buckley, is taking on a Coast to Coast Challenge next month and is calling on emergency services across the UK to support him.
Calvin is taking part in the 190-mile long walk, which starts at St Bees, in the Lake District, and ends at Robin Hood’s Bay, in North Yorkshire, in memory of his partner, Frankie Julia Hough, and their unborn daughter, Neeve, who were killed by a dangerous driver in May 2023.
Calvin will be completing the epic challenge alongside Frankie’s father, Frank, to raise money for Frankie and Neeve’s Road Safety Academy, which they founded earlier this year. The charity has been set up to provide fun and accessible education on road safety for younger generations.
Calvin discovered RoadPeace soon after Frankie and Neeve’s crash and is a strong supporter of our Fix Our Broken Justice System campaign. He appeared on national television on a number of occasions to share his experience of the justice system, with the support of RoadPeace.
Final Mile and Professionals’ Day
As part of the event, Calvin and Frank are calling for the emergency services and others to join them as they walk the final mile of the Coast to Coast on September 26, 2024.
The day has been named ‘Professionals’ Day’ and will serve as an opportunity to reflect on the impact of road crime on the emergency services and express their gratitude for the support they received from many professionals in Greater Manchester, following Frankie and Neeve’s crash.
Speaking about the event, Calvin said: “We are inviting these amazing professionals to walk with us before we chair a discussion at the beautiful setting of Robin Hood’s Bay.
“We hope to be joined by those professionals who supported our family after Frankie and Neeve were killed and would love more professionals to join us.
“It is a wellbeing event, a chance to discuss what effect these incidents have on the frontline, but also a chance for us to say thank you.
“We hope the media will be in attendance and to further discussions with the new government on road crime.”
