The Andy Cox Challenge 2022

After raising over £50k for RoadPeace during his challenge last year, a 200km run from the site of the first ever road death in Crystal Palace in London, to the RoadPeace Wood at the National Memorial Arboretum, Detective Chief Superintendent Andy Cox is back for another challenge in 2022.

  • 30miles a day for 7 days – Andy will be doing 30miles of activity (a walk, a run, a cycle) across the country
  • ‘From Force to Family’ – the routes will start at a Police Station and travel to people affected by road death and injury, who will tell their stories and shed light on the 5 people killed every day on our roads.
  • Half of the police forces – it wont just be Andy out there meeting victims, representatives from around half England and Wales’ of the Police Forces will be out there doing the same.
  • 30 miles for 30 Years – Andy has chosen the 30mile figure to honour and celebrate the 30th Anniversary of RoadPeace, which was set up in 1992.

Andy’s aim is that with this challenge, he can amplify victim’s voices and bring road danger reduction to the forefront of national conversation, and prevent the needless deaths and injury on our roads.

The challenge will take place in the following places across May 16-22, 2022

  • Day 1 – Isle of Wight
  • Day 2 – Sussex
  • Day 3 – London
  • Day 4 – Lincolnshire
  • Day 5 – Sheffield
  • Day 6 – Manchester
  • Day 7 – Staffordshire finishing at the Arboretum

In May 2021, he embarked on an ambitious 200km run during Global Road Safety Week, raising £53,000 for RoadPeace, closely supported by families bereaved by road collisions.
