We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Angela for her incredible efforts in raising money for RoadPeace in memory of her beloved son, George. Her strength, determination, and generosity are truly inspiring, and her contribution will help so many others who are affected by road traffic incidents.
Angela has shared her story with us, a moving tribute to George — a vibrant, ambitious young man who brought joy to everyone he met:
“Our gorgeous George was born with a smile on his face. He was always happy, full of life, and the heart of every gathering. He had many friends and was loved by everyone who knew him.
George put his all into everything he did. His dream was to become a professional footballer, and by the age of fifteen, he made that dream a reality. He later went on to have a successful career as an oil broker.
He always stayed fit and loved a challenge, even running ultra-marathons just for fun!
On the 30th of July 2023, George was hit by a speeding drunk driver while crossing the road. The London Air Ambulance did everything they could, but sadly, he passed away on the 5th of August. In his final act of kindness, George donated five of his organs to save others’ lives.
RoadPeace has been a great support, always there to listen. Their befriender programme has been so helpful, connecting us with others who understand. My daughter and I also completed the resilience programme, which helped us process our grief.
RoadPeace is an amazing and much-needed charity, and we’re so grateful for everything they do.”
To Angela, we extend our deepest thanks. Your dedication to supporting RoadPeace will help ensure that families facing similar heartbreak have access to the resources and community they need.
