The sudden, unexpected and traumatic experience of a road death or serious injury can be emotionally overwhelming. And the police investigations, inquests and court procedures which may follow are often unfamiliar and disorientating. RoadPeace is here to help you.
Anyone experiencing the aftermath of a road crash will know that the emotional and practical go hand in hand. Talking to a befriender who has survived a similar loss can provide ideas for day to day coping strategies and glimpses of hope which can be practical in the extreme. Addressing the symptoms of traumatic grief can build the resilience necessary to deal the practical demands of the day to day. Clarification and guidance through legal processes can be emotionally sustaining.
RoadPeace was founded by a bereaved mother horrified by the lack of support and guidance available. Some of its staff and the great majority of its volunteers have experienced bereavement through road death, losing partners, parents and children.
For many years RoadPeace has been helping families find their way at a time when the simplest of tasks seemed overwhelming.
"Sometimes when you feel alone and cut off from the rest of society it’s nice to know people from RoadPeace are always there to catch us when we fall”. Bereaved Partner
