Local Groups
Local groups are a vital part of RoadPeace as they provide:
- Local support
Members offer support to each other, which can often be more effective in a group setting.
- Local forum
Groups come together to provide a voice that will raise awareness of local issues as well as representing the wider scale and costs of road deaths and injuries. There is often chance to get involved with others at a local level in joint projects and initiatives.
- Local expertise
Groups can develop a detailed understanding of specific local issues and can build partnerships with local bodies (courts, coroners, CPS, police, hospitals etc) and local individuals such as MPs and councillors.
- Media liaison
Building relationships with local radio, television and newspapers and having a local voice are all invaluable when highlighting local issues.
- Supporting RoadPeace
Groups provide vital support to RoadPeace’s work by recruiting new members and organising local events that remember road crash victims and raise vital funds.
